Mechanoelectricity of a nanoporous monel–electrolyte solution system

چکیده
The electrification of an electrolyte solution in a nanoporous alloy is investigated through a mechanoelectricity measurement experiment. As the liquid flows across the nanoporous electrode, charge separation occurs over the large nanopore surface, resulting in a significant output voltage, which is in-phase with the actuator motion. This phenomenon is different from the conventional streaming current effect, since the solid phase is conductive and no voltage can be developed along its surface. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. Effect of composition electrolyte on the morphology and photocatalytic activity of anodized titanium nanoporous
The morphology of titanium dioxide and titanium dioxide-tungsten trioxide nanocomposite films fabricated by anodizing in a glycerol solution containing 0.13 M NH4F and different quantity of Na2WO4 was investigated as a function of sodium tungstate concentrations. The effects of sodium tungstate concentration on the surface morphology were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was c...
متن کاملExtension of the Dense System Equation of State to Electrolyte Solutions
In this work we have applied the Dense System Equation of State (DSEOS) to electrolyte solutions. We have found that this equation of state can predict the density of electrolyte solutions very accurately. It has been tested for different electrolytes solutions at different temperatures and compositions. A hypothetical binary model has been applied to find the dependencies of parameters of ...
متن کاملInvestigating the Solubility of CO2 in the Solution of Aqueous K2CO3 Using Wilson-NRF Model
Hot potassium carbonate (PC) solution in comparison with amine solution had a decreased energy of regeneration and a high chemical solubility of . To present vapor and liquid equation (VLE) of this system and predict solubility, the ion specific non-electrolyte Wilson-NRF local composition model (isNWN) was used in this study; the framework of this model was molecular. Therefore, it was suitab...
متن کاملReference electrodes with salt bridges contained in nanoporous glass: an underappreciated source of error.
In electroanalytical measurements, nanoporous glass plugs are widely used to contain the electrolyte solution that forms a salt bridge between the sample and the reference electrode. Even though reference electrodes with plugs made of nanoporous glass (such as Vycor or CoralPor glass) are commercially available and are frequently used, the limits of their use have not been explored thoroughly. ...
متن کاملA volume-memory liquid
By dispersing nanoporous particles in an electrolyte solution, a “milklike” suspension is formed. At a low temperature, the nanoporous phase is hydrophilic, and thus the liquid can fill the nanopores spontaneously. As the temperature increases, the nanopore surfaces become hydrophobic. Consequently, the confined liquid defiltrates, leading to a significant system expansion. As the suspension wo...
